About Krissy

The book is
rarely the
whole story.

I’ve spent much of my career helping people recognize the potential in what they have to say—and then figuring out how to bring it to life.

Books + Publishing + Media

A career built around words, ideas + possibility.

I’m an author, editor, ghostwriter, publishing strategist, and longtime communicator.

I’ve written and traditionally published my own books. I’ve worked deeply inside other people’s manuscripts as an editor and ghostwriter, coached authors through the writing and publishing process, led publishing operations from inside a publishing house, worked in acquisitions, and helped build the operations, systems, and author journeys for multiple hybrid publishing companies.

And throughout my career, media has been another expression of that same work.

Together, those experiences have taught me to see beyond the manuscript—to the author, the publishing path, and what the work might become.

How I Work

Good editorial work begins with listening.

Before I can help shape someone’s work, I need to understand what they’re really trying to say—and why it matters to them.

My role isn’t to make an author sound like me. It’s to bring greater clarity, strength, and intention to the work while preserving the voice that made it theirs in the first place.

That means knowing when to step back and see the larger vision, when to work sentence by sentence, and when the most important question isn’t about the writing at all.

My experience inside publishing has also taught me to look beyond the page—to manuscript readiness, publishing options, positioning, and the decisions that shape what happens next.

Beyond the Page

Sometimes the book is the destination. Sometimes it’s the beginning.

Media became another way I learned to carry an idea beyond the written word—to shape it for a different medium, connect with an audience, and understand how a message can take on a life beyond the page.

That experience still influences the way I see books today. Sometimes the right work is simply to make the book as strong as it can be. Sometimes there is something larger taking shape around it.

Part of my work is recognizing the difference—and helping authors think thoughtfully about the possibilities when they are there.

People matter. Words matter. And how we steward both matters.
A Personal Note

The work matters. So does the life around it.

At the center of it all.

Long before I stepped into publishing leadership, my driving passion was—and remains—helping people see themselves as God does.

That conviction still shapes the way I approach my work. I believe we are each entrusted with things worth carrying well—ideas, stories, experiences, wisdom, creativity, and influence.

Being invited into someone else’s work is something I don’t take lightly. There is a person behind every manuscript, and what they are trying to say usually matters to them long before it ever matters to a reader.

I live on the serene Eastern Shore of Alabama with my husband and our family, and home remains the place that keeps everything else in perspective.
