Grammar matters.
But so does everything around it.
A strong book has to work on more than one level.
Depending on your manuscript, my editorial eye may move between the sentence in front of me and the book as a whole.
Sometimes the comma is the problem. Sometimes the chapter is the problem. And sometimes the reader needs something the author has not yet realized is missing.
Distinctive language matters. Cadence matters. Personality matters. Stories matter.
The phrase you naturally chose may carry something a technically “better” sentence cannot reproduce. My philosophy is not to polish every author into the same voice.
I want to understand you well enough to recognize what belongs to you—and protect it.
Your finished manuscript should feel clearer, stronger, and more confident while still sounding unmistakably like you.

There is a difference between editing a manuscript solely as a piece of writing and editing it as a book that will eventually move through professional publishing.
As an author, editor, ghostwriter, publishing strategist, and publishing professional, I understand the manuscript from concept through editorial preparation, interior design, production, distribution, and launch.
