“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” —Proverbs 3:5–6 NIV

Trusting God is a key to overcoming fear because it goes beyond all logic and reason. It requires faith. Often we are fearful because situations and circumstances seem impossible. There is no earthly way the issue can be resolved. So we become fearful. But when we trust in the Lord we can overcome that fear by standing on His word of Truth—with Him nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37)! And we have hope.

Fear has the potential to halt us, hinder us, grip us, paralyze us, silence us, shut us down, and so much more; but only if we let it! The more we know God the more we trust Him! As the scripture says, we lean not on our own understanding but in all our ways we are acknowledging Him (Prov. 3:5). It was inconceivable for Moses to understand why God would lead him to the Red Sea but he didn’t let his limited understanding limit God’s plan.

The more we trust God the less fear can hinder us from walking in our destiny.

Trusting the LORD with all our heart means knowing Him as “Yahweh” which is the Hebrew word for LORD framed around the meaning “I Am”. God is I Am. God says, “I Am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End,” Revelation 22:13. He is before all things and in Him all things hold together (Col. 1:17). We serve a great big God friend! He is bigger than any fear! He is over any obstacle! He can do all things and through Him we can do all things too!

I pray that today you are strengthened in your faith in Yahweh. He is the great I Am. Nothing is impossible for Him. Decide today that you are going to choose to trust Him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. This is the day the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! God is bigger friend. Proclaim over yourself today that you will not walk in fear for God has not given you a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7)!

I love you!

P.S. How can I be praying for you today?
