Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” —Psalm 36:5

Often we wonder what we have to give. What we can bring to the table. But today I’m reminded that it’s not what I have that matters most, but what God gives that counts. God is rich and abounding in love. He is gracious. He is kind. His goodness knows no bounds. As our scripture beautifully conveys, His love reaches to the heavens! His faithfulness to the skies. God’s design wasn’t that you have anything more to bring to the table than yourself.

“O my son, give me your heart. May your eyes take delight in following my ways.” —Proverbs 23:26

As a parent longs that their children enjoy their presence so our Heavenly Father desires that we find delight in Him. God has already given us His most precious gift of all, His Son. Sometimes we forget that God is a giver.

God gives us His love daily. His mercies are new for us every morning. Never forget that your relationship with the Father is not one sided. You give—your heart, your life, your love, your worship—He gives His heart, His life, His Love and He rejoices over you with singing (Zeph 3:17).

You might say, “I have nothing!” But God declares over you today, “My child, I give everything.”

FRIEND, if you feel empty and perhaps like something needs to change because you simply can’t go on any longer like this: remember that God is a giver. Whatever you have need of today it isn’t about what you must give, but what God gives: His Son. Lay your heart before Him today and allow Him to wash over you with His extravagant love. He will empower you to carry on with a new strength! Restored peace! And a fresh fire in your heart as you let go of what you think you don’t have and receive what He’s already given. He is a good Father who loves you fiercely!! He will give you what you need today.

TODAY: Allow His gift of love to refresh and water your soul.
