“My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.” Daniel 6:22, NLT

Daniel had every reason to be afraid. But he didn’t allow fear to lead him. He was steadfast in his faith in God and who God said he was. Daniel lived his life giving honor and glory to God yet he was still persecuted. He found himself in a mess of false accusation, and being thrown into a pit of death. Yet the Lord God went with him and he was safe.

God’s promise to us is that as we continue to walk with Him He sends His angels around us as a banner of protection over us. Though we face many messes in life rest assured that your God will protect you. Even in the face of death, you need not be afraid.

Here’s the thing, often we think God’s protection is contingent on us getting things right all the time. Saying the right thing, doing the right thing, in Daniel’s case he was eating the right thing, but because of Jesus our imperfections are bridged by His blood. We aren’t going to get it right all the time but God will still take care of us! He will still protect us. Why? Because He’s looking at our heart. Because of the cross, grace abounds. Remember: His power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Cor. 12:9)!

The motive of Daniel’s heart was to follow God’s ways instead of man’s. Let the motive of your heart line up with God’s way and keep moving forward. Even in the face of a mess. Even in times of trials and tribulations—just keep going. Full of faith. Fearlessly obedient knowing that God goes before you and is your rear guard. He will take care of you. Jesus is the bridge from our mess to God’s mercy. Find hope and rest in this truth as the Holy Spirit fills you with supernatural boldness and courage!

FRIEND, No matter what you’re going through God will take care of you! He will rescue you. He will send His angels concerning you. They come swiftly. He will give you courage from within to walk through the hard times in life.

TODAY: Even in your mess—praise Him, for He is good! Allow His goodness to refresh and water your soul.
