“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’” —Matthew 25:23

Often, we read this scripture and associate it with the end of our life on earth. The words of the Father affirming us in our life lived out for Christ on the earth. But did you know that you can live each day for God’s “Well Done”? You can lay your head on your pillow at night and if you need it, you can tune into the Father speaking these words of life over you, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

This thought hit my heart as I worshiped the other night. I was pressing through thoughts of fear and doubt. Everything in me wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. But instead I worshiped. I pressed through. And I overcame. It was then that I began to realize, each day I have an opportunity to be a good and faithful steward. Not just with my time and talents. But a good steward of Truth. A good and faithful steward of the fruit of the spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, perseverance—whatever I’ve been given, I can steward; and I should steward.

FRIEND, God is pleased when we take what He has given us and do our best to utilize it. He doesn’t expect us to get it perfect all the time; but He expects us to have faith. Faith in Him that He’s given us what we need to keep going and to flourish in our day—even if it’s hard… even if we want to give up and call it a day.

Did you know that you’ve been given a treasure and have a mandate on your life to steward well what the Father has given you? As a born-again believer, your life can bear fruit. And you should bear fruit. John 15 tells us how—by abiding in Him. His fruit flourishing in and through your life is what helps you overcome whatever issues you face. Whether fear, anxiety, worry, doubt, pain, abandonment—whatever challenging obstacles you face each day you can overcome by allowing the fruit of the spirit, the fruit of HIS spirit to operate through you.

Is it easy? Well, no, it’s not, but it’s not meant to be easy. But it is right. And at the end of the day, as you pressed through the obstacle, whatever it was, and you didn’t let it stop you in achieving what God had planned for you that day—even if what He had planed was that you simply get through your day full of joy. Full of peace.  Well friend, then you can rest your head on your pillow and be assured you’ll hear that still small voice of the Father saying to you, “Well done good and faithful servant—you didn’t give up, you didn’t back down, you overcame… you kept going.”

TODAY: Take a deep breath and decide to press through any obstacle in your path. Allow the Father’s “Well done” to refresh and water your soul.
