“The joy of the Lord is my strength.” —Nehemiah 8:10

Lets talk about the joy of the Lord, shall we? I love discussing joy! I love living in joy! I love dancing for joy! I. Love. Joy.

The joy of the Lord set me free from an otherwise locked up life of doubt, insecurity, pain, shame, regret, and an overall dry and weary existence.

The joy of the Lord is a key to an unchained life!

We are strong when we walk in joy because joy flows from the revelation of who Jesus is, the price He paid for us on the cross and who we are as a child of God. It’s exciting!

“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” —Psalm 37:4

The joy of the Lord in you is world changing and atmosphere shifting!

“But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” —2 Corinthians 3:16-18 NIV

As believers we were made to shine.

There’s a big difference between happiness and joy. Happiness is circumstantial—joy is eternal. I lived a whole decade of my life under the illusion that I had joy because I was “happy”. I was wrong. Inside I was dry. My spirit was thirsty. My heart had become a desert land filled with dried up riverbeds where rivers of living water once flowed until one day God set my feet to dancing and restored my joy!

I challenge you today, drink of the living water that flows for you from the living Word of God. Soak in His presence and allow Him to fill you up. Don’t allow the busyness of the life be a distraction. Drink of the Living water today and He will restore your joy!

You were made to shine!

I love you!
Krissy

P.S. How can I pray for you today?
