“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” —Psalm 91:1–2

Do you ever have those days when you just need to breathe? You long for some serenity… for peace? Often we want to “veg-out” in front of the TV, read a good book, partake in a hobby that relaxes us, none of which are terrible things to do but in the hour we are living in with so many distractions all around us it is critical that we are finding shelter in the Lord. It is imperative that we know Him as our “strong tower” finding safety, refuge and rest in Him. We need to know what this means and what that looks like for us personally. It’s part of the awesome fellowship opportunity we have with Him and it’s what Jesus died for us to be able to enter into.

I want to encourage you—don’t forget to rest in the Lord.

When was the last time you found rest in Him?

For some it’s a daily thing while for others it may be a foreign concept altogether. “Isn’t that what Sunday’s are for?” While Sunday morning church services are an amazing time of gathering together with the saints to worship and find refreshing we were not created to live without God’s presence daily.

Imagine an eagle only taking flight occasionally when it was created for daily adventures soaring high above the treetops. I imagine this majestic bird would begin to feel lethargic, it would sense that something wasn’t quite right.

Listen friend, we are hardwired for fellowship with Abba God. It’s in our blood. Its what draws those furthest from the Lord running back into His arms.

Many of us are neglecting our rest in the Lord and we don’t even realize it.

I pray that today your spirit will begin to stir and a fresh hunger will bubble from within. You created to find your home in His heart, to find rest and refuge in the shadow of the Almighty. He’s not a distant God Who has no interest in you; He’s your Heavenly Father who longs for deep, intimate encounters with you!!

So today, take some time to rest in Him. If you need to breathe then the simple solution for you today is, well, breathe. Breathe in the life giving breath of God who is near you right now. His promise is that He never leaves you or forsakes you so if you’re looking for God, my friend—He’s right there!

I believe you will have a fresh encounter with the Living God today as you take time to breathe and rest in Him, in Jesus Name!

I love you,

Krissy

P.S. P.S. How can I be praying for you today?
