The road was smooth beneath my feet as I jogged the other morning. The sun was at a perfect position in the sky where it wasn’t too hot. There was this refreshing spring breeze that I occasionally caught as I turned certain corners weaving throughout my neighborhood. If I didn’t have my earbuds in I suspect I would have ran to the serenade of the morning dove’s song and happy little birds chirping. All in all, it was a perfect Spring morning.

I love running. (Well, it’s sort of a love/hate, but all in all I love it!) There is just something about the momentum of running that puts into perspective the momentum of life. Eventually I get to a place in my run where I’d like to stop and cool down. But lately its right at this moment when I hear the Lord say to me, “Keep going.” And then He’ll highlight a certain spot, usually up the hill, where I am to push myself to.

It’s in this moment when I have a choice to make. Do I stop or keep going? My body may be screaming stop! Stop!! But my spirit says, Obey, keep going! So I continue forward, but now I can no longer push forward in my own strength… I need the Lord. I need His strength to press on within me.

The scripture, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus,” (Phil 3:14) rolls through my mind.

My body is tired.

My heart pounds within my chest.

The heat of the sun now beating down on me I wonder,

How can I do this? How can I make it any further?

Jesus!

Suddenly a fresh determination rises up within me…

The words of Jesus, “With man this is impossible, but with God nothing is impossible!”

A smile crosses my face. Determination fills my heart. I rely only on this joy coming from within.

With God nothing is impossible!

I rely fully on the surge of strength within that now I’m doing this unto the Lord. Its an act of obedience. Of worship.

The Teacher teaches again as I plow forward,

“Krissy, I never said life would be easy what I said was, ‘Take heart!’”

The scripture hits my heart, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world,” John 16:33.

Take heart.

Another translation reads, “Be of good cheer.” And another, “Be of courage”.

Take heart. Be of good cheer. Be of courage!

Friend! God has a message of hope for you today in your circumstance.

He’s saying,
Just continue on a little further.
Press on!
Don’t give up!
Seek me and I will show you the mark.
I will highlight that place you must push too.
Rely on Me.
On My strength.
Rest in Me and allow Me to be the momentum that rises up within you.
But you must keep going!
Be of courage!
Don’t let go.
Don’t stop.
Trust Me.

God is good friend.

“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

Keep Going!

I sense there are many who are struggling to keep going. You wonder how much longer this must go on. You’re in a season that’s hard. A season of much “pushing”. Friend! Heed the word of God today! Cling to it! Dive into Truth today! Read what God says about you in the Psalms. In Proverbs. In the Epistles. Don’t let go now! Now is the time to press on! Get into the Word of God. Live a life style of prayer!

Everything is for a time and a season (Ecc. 3:1). And some seasons in life mean we continue on and we trust the Lord that He is with us and He will give us the strength, courage and joy to press on toward the mark!

Rely on God friend. Rely on Him for breath. For peace. Abide in Him as you continue forward in your journey. God has purpose in every season He has you in. Remember, Jesus didn’t promise life would be easy, what He said was, “Take heart! Be of courage! Be of good cheer!”

This Week’s Challenge: Don’t give up. Press on toward the mark. Trust the Lord. Each and every day choose to continue moving forward. Embrace the journey and thank God that He is with you every step of the way.

I love you,

Krissy

P.S. How can I be praying for you?
