“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” —Matthew 11:28-30

Do you realize that Jesus welcomes you with wide-open arms just as you are? Are you aware you don’t need to “clean up your act” to come near to Him?

He has eyes of compassion for you friend.

If you read any portion of Jesus’ life you see time and again where He was “moved by compassion” to heal, to deliver, to raise from the dead, to stop what He was doing and where He was going to focus on the one before Him.

You are that one today and Jesus burns with compassion for you!

He is the very embodiment of compassion and He came into this earth to show us through demonstration what compassion looks like.

“Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died–more than that, who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” —Romans 8:34 NIV

As I wrote about in a previous devotional—Jesus Understands!! The Bible shows us the times where Jesus was tempted, His heart was broken, etc. At one point Jesus was in such agony He sweat drops of blood as He fell to His knees and cried out to the Father (Luke 22:44)! Now, however, He sits at God’s right hand advocating for us, “Father, have compassion…”

If anyone understands you friend, it’s Jesus!

So today if there is any area of your life preventing you from coming boldly before the throne of Grace (Heb. 4:16) I want to encourage you—it’s time to let it go. If not now when? Whatever it is friend just bring it to Jesus!! He is for you!

So often we hesitate to bring our stuff to the Lord because we are ashamed. We have this false sense that we need to somehow make it right before we approach Him. That we need to clean up our act before we can come to Him.

Friend—that is a lie!

It’s a lie concocted by the enemy who wants to see you living in eternal separation from the Father! The very separation Jesus died to eliminate! So don’t allow a feeling of shame, guilt or condemnation to render His sacrifice null by not approaching Him in humility just as you are—it’s why He died friend! Besides, the truth is as hard as we may try, we’ll never be able to clean up our act enough on our own! Only Jesus can, because it’s through His blood we are washed clean. His crimson blood washes us white as snow… so we need to bring our junk to Jesus so He can make us brand new!!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” —2 Corinthians 5:17

Jesus is beckoning you today, He’s saying, “Come to me…” It’s an invitation for all who are feeling weary and heavy to come to Him…

Therefore, cast your cares upon Him today friend… be real with Him. Allow the floodgates to open wide crashing through any walls you’ve built around your heart.

As our scripture says, take His yoke upon you… in other words: allow yourself to be linked to Jesus and not to this world. The weight of the world is heavy and will weigh you down, but His burden is light and your soul will in turn find rest.

Even now I can hear the Lord saying,So many are far from me because they believe I keep them at arm’s length when in reality it’s they who keep me at a distance for fear that I won’t accept them as they are. This is a lie. The truth is that I died so that they might come near. I paid a hefty price so that there would be nothing separating them from My love.” —Says the Lord.

So there you have it friend. Let nothing separate you from the love of Christ. He burns with an everlasting passion for you. He is for you. He is not against you. He loves you. He doesn’t condemn you. Come near today.

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” —John 3:17 NIV

Listen to this song and allow the weight of the world to fall from your shoulders as you realize: Jesus loves you and wants you to come to Him just as you are… It’s time for you to come alive friend… piece by piece… He’s restoring you…

I love you,

Krissy
